Our Role
Four consecutive failed rainy seasons have emptied wells and thinned herds across Somalia, and pastoralist families are selling the animals their livelihoods depend on. We combine emergency water trucking with borehole rehabilitation and livestock support, so households are not forced into distress sales. Water committees run the rehabilitated boreholes and collect small tariffs for maintenance, which keeps them working after the emergency ends. Cash support goes alongside, because markets here have stock but families have no money.
