Our Role
Repeated failed rains have pushed farming households in Kenya's drylands from a difficult season into a permanent emergency. We equip rural agricultural communities with climate-resilient seed, shared irrigation and farmer-to-farmer training, so households move from food aid towards their own harvests. Cooperatives run the seed banks themselves and repay loans in seed, which stocks the next cooperative. Our field officers stay with a cooperative for at least three seasons, long enough for the practice to hold after we leave.
